What will I learn?
Our facilitation training combines interactive learning approaches with a warm, supportive environment to help you become the best facilitator you can be.
We use a combination of demonstrations, practice in small groups, peer reflection, expert guidance and taught content to help you build your facilitation skills and confidence. Through our training you will:
Learn to create engaging environments – discover how to build truly participative spaces where everyone feels empowered to join in.
Gain new facilitation tools and techniques – gain new tactics to shape sessions, spark discussion, inspire ideas and support productive conversations.
Build skills and confidence – strengthen your abilities as a facilitator, especially working with complex dynamics, so you can take on any challenge.
Practise, practise, practise – you will have the chance to try your new skills out in practice, and watch others in action too.
Refresh your practice – learn from others, gain new perspectives and ideas, and come away feeling excited about facilitating your next session.

Who’s leading the training?
I’m Julia Slay, a freelance consultant and facilitator with over 15 years’ experience working as a coach, facilitator and trainer.
I have facilitated over a thousand workshops, ranging from away days and team development sessions to multi-day strategy retreats and international convenings.
I love what I do. I’ve learnt from some of the best facilitators around, and I maintain my own skills by regularly taking part in training to deepen my practice.
Before turning my hand to facilitation I worked in senior roles in the charity and government sectors, leading policy and research work.
See my LinkedIn profile for more info and follow me for facilitation tips, updates and reflections.
I have learnt so much from Julia – not only through her endless toolbox of facilitation approaches, but above all, her calm presence, unshakable composure and good humoured warmth. Julia is truly an expert in creating inclusive, trusting and engaging environments, ensuring diverse perspectives are heard and has mastered the difficult skill of flexing rapidly to client need.
